Ranong Hotels - Cantik Thailand Hotels

The province is the least populated in Thailand on the western coast of the Andaman Sea in the south, a narrow strip of land that connects mainland Thailand with the Malay Peninsula. Bordered by Myanmar, Ranong is blessed with unspoilt mangrove forests.

Despite the fact that it suffers the most rain in Thailand (about 8 months of the year), the frontier town of Ranong, with a thriving Burmese population, has become a prized spot for divers keen to explore the spectacular Burma Banks, 60km north of the Surin islands.

Khao Fa Chi is worth a look where Fa Chi hill provides spectacular sunsets and a view of two rivers meeting.

Japanese soldiers used this area as a port of sending support to Burma during WWII so history buffs will find the remains of a Japanese military base complete with warship wrecks, underground tunnels and the remains of a railway line fascinating.

Renowned for its preserved seafood such as dried shrimp, shrimp paste, cashew nuts and dumplings, Ranong, still retains its mostly unspoilt Thai traditions.
